Events for children

Docudays UA invites children to the traditional event program DOC/SADOC. Children’s space DOC/SADOC is a specially equipped room and a program full of active and educational events for children of different ages (3-6 and 6-14), giving their parents an opportunity to watch films.

The main topic for Docudays UA 2017 is ecology. Is the environment problem as far-fetched as leaders of certain countries think, or we really don’t have much time left for “carefree” life? How does our world’s ecology change and what can we change in the world to leave a suitable place for life to the next generations? Decisions about decreasing human impact on the environment are made not only on the global level, but also between us - in every family and in every house. We can live rationally and ecologically, and this year’s DOC/SADOC program convinces us that it can be fun and exciting.

Professional teachers from the center for early development Kangaroo Nursery School will look after the youngest children (3-6 years). With approach based on principles of free education and advice from Maria Montessori, in casual atmosphere, teachers of the center will encourage children to explore themselves and the world. Exciting and educational meetings and classes will wait for children of 6 to 12 years old. Maryna Nikolcheva, experienced in communication with children of all ages, will keep them company there. This year childern of 9-14 years will have an opportunity to enroll in a course of documentary theatre. With “Children's geograhpies” and documentary theatre director Liza Oliynyk the participants will work with autobiographical stories, rethink their own experience and understanding of the environment, city and nature using theatrical methods, and research the city of Kyiv, which will result in sketches for a documentary performance. Registration form for the documentary theatre studio is available by the link.
