Consequences of the occupation for human rights in Crimea
White Hall of the Cinema House
Crimean Field Mission on Human Rights, Center for Human Rights Information, and Amnesty International Ukraine will present the monitoring of human rights violations in Crimea for the occupation year. They will also provide facts of political persecutions of Crimean Tatar and Ukrainian activists (including kidnappings), falsifications of criminal cases, constant searches and interrogations on behalf of Russian FSS. Special focus will be made on the usage of mass media by local authorities for targeted destruction of freedom of speech in Crimea.
“The freedom of religion is so limited, that only Moscow Partiarchate Orthodox Church can exist freely in Crimea. Efficient means to protect the rights and to reach fair administration of justice are no longer available to the Crimeans, which is confirmed with the cases of Oleh Sentsov, Oleksandr Kolchenko, Akhtem Chigoyz, Oleksandr Kostenko, and others”, says Olha Skrypnyk, chairwoman of the Center for Civic Education “Almenda”, one of the organizers of this presentation.
