Documentaries against the fascism of today. We have opened submissions for the Special competition of Docudays UA Documentaries against the fascism of today. The organizers are inviting filmmakers from different countries to send your entries and films about the problems with fascism of today and it’s key components: - intolerance towards social groups and the call for their discrimination ( including racism, radical nationalism, homophobia, anti-Semitism and so on); - the totalitarian thinking or idea of the omnipotent state’s power over the individual and other ideas about the total submission of individuality and the right to sacrifice the individual for a greater good; - militarism and the cult of violence. The reason for the competition is the recent growth of right-wing radical ideology which has brought right-wing radical politicians to power in many European countries and has inspired neo-fascist groups to commit violent hate crimes. The Festival will take place from 26 th March to 2 April 2010 in Kyiv, Ukraine. Submission deadline is November, 30 th 2009. We kindly ask you to send your entries as soon as possible.
